    unexpected clearing behaviors in IE

    Hi Folks,
    I'm in a rough place with an asp storefront. basically I am trying to fight some less than desirable, but not changeable code with the css that I can change. I've got everything looking just as I want it in FF, but IE is giving me some weirdness. Depending on how I do my styles I seem to end up with something that tries to show up below my left sidebar. This page is a good (bad) example of what's happening http://www.pinkgolftees.com/p-13-tat....aspx?skinid=9

    The product shows up below the left side contents.

    If I change my styles to what's below I can get the product to sit up where it's supposed to, but then the list of manufacturers shows up with a bunch of whitespace like it's clearing the left side
    #leftWrap
    {
    width: 190px;
    float: left;
    clear: both;
    }

    #content
    {
    margin-left: 140px;
    border-left: 1px solid gray;
    padding: 1em;
    width: 590px;
    }

    sample list of manufacturers is here http://pinkgolftees.com/m-3-tattoo-golf.aspx?skinid=9

    any idea what's causing the odd behaviors and how I can correct it? Either style snippet produces the results I want in FF.

    thanks
    Mark

    Remove the width in #content.

    thanks, but that doesn't seem to have done it. with that change to #content the list of manufacturers appears not to clear below the left menu, but clicking on any one product puts that product below everything in the left column

    because I personally find the IE7 security "features" to not be helpful in the least.

    either way, a large % of my target is on IE6....is there a way to fix my css for it?

    Aside from one or two issues with widths and paddings and unreferenced images in your CSS, I don't see any problems in IE6?
    "write it for FireFox then hack it for IE."

    that's so strange, I get the undesirable result on the three pc's I have access to.

    here's a screen shot from firefox, this is how the product page should look

    here's a shot of the same page in IE, note how the product appears below the left hand column.

    as I continue to frustrate the heck out of myself with this project, does anyone have suggestions as to what some customization of my storefront might cost?
    thanks for the help so far!
