    It would seem like a simple spacing problem...

    I have an issue that is rather small.

    my site taisworld.freehostplace.com/index.php has 4 different divs.

    the menu and banner on the left are two separate elements. the banner in placed inside the menu at the top, and the menu text wraps around it.

    the problem is, I want at least one lines width inbetween the banner and the menu text below it, keeping the width of the bar that appears when you hover over a link. if I include a margin-bottom:20px on the bottom of the banner, this happens:

    taisworld.freehostplace.com/index1.php

    the 'home' link has extra height! i tried changing the following part of my master1.css code:

    #leftcontent a, #leftcontent em { display: block; width:100%;}
    #leftcontent a, #leftcontent em { border-top: 0px groove #900 }
    #leftcontent a:first-child { border-top: none }
    #leftcontent em { color: #CFC }

    #leftcontent a:link { text-decoration: none; color: white }
    #leftcontent a:visited { text-decoration: none; color: white }
    #leftcontent a:hover { background: white; color: #94a2a3
    }

    but to no avail. Do you think I need to separate the two divs and arrange them within my main 'wrapper' box?

    My god. I feel a bit overwhelmed by this at the moment! one tiny change seems to create a snowball effect of problems for me
