    Arrow stop horizontal scrolling in textarea in Firefox 2

    I am developing my site in FF 2.0.0.7 and when I type into the text area the text carries on in the one line and does not wrap down onto the next line.

    However, it works fine in IE 7. I thought I had the fix with the CSS styling I added, but it does not work. Looking at this forum for example, i presume I am writing into a textarea (using FF 2.0.0.7) and it has a working vertical scrollbar.

    My HTML/CSS.

    Code:
    .textarea {
    	overflow: scroll;
    	overflow-y: scroll;
    	overflow-x: hidden;
    	overflow:-moz-scrollbars-vertical;
    }

    <textarea name="moreinfo" id="moreinfo" cols="45" rows="5" class="textarea"></textarea>
    Cheers, Picco

    It seems to work for me, even without any CSS at all. Make sure you're not just typing a constant random string (without spaces) into the textarea to test it. If a single word is too long for the textarea, it must get horizontal scrollbars. With your CSS, any REALLY long word is hidden completely.

    A great way to test things with a lot of random words: http://www.lipsum.com

    Ah....... i WAS using a constant random string to test.

    Now it works with normal words :-)

    Is there a way to combat this problem if someone DOES enter a constant string?
