    Text alignment on a location bar

    Hi, I have a essentially a location bar I made and when I use it, I have text that appears on the left hand side of the bar, but I also want text on the right hand side of the bar as well. Every way i've tried puts the text on the right hand side a line below the left hand side text but I want all text on the same line so it's like one bar, one line. Floats don't do it unless im using them wrong. Help plz!

    //CSS CODE
    .bar{font-weight:bold;color:#fff;padding:.2em;margin-bottom:1em;background-color:#b2c3dd;border-top:1px solid #6a788f}

    //Code used to display .bar
    <div class="upbar">
    <p align=left>
    WORDS ON LEFT HERE
    </p>
    Need words on right side of bar here in the same div on same bar on one line
    </div>

    Welp, I fixed it by using floats. I just didn't realize at first I needed to put the right float before the left float.
