    </head>
    <body bgcolor="#000000">
    <!--url's used in the movie-->
    <!--text used in the movie-->
    <!-- saved from url=(0013)about:internet -->
    <object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0" width="1015" height="150" id="snl" align="bottom">
    <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" />
    <param name="movie" value="snl.swf" /><param name="quality" value="high" /><param name="salign" value="b" /><param name="bgcolor" value="#000000" /><embed src="snl.swf" quality="high" salign="b" bgcolor="#000000" width="1015" height="150" name="snl" align="bottom" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" />

    Well, "align" is deprecated and it does not do what you would want it to do in this situation anyway. You do not have any other content on the page, so, yes, the swf will show at the top because there is nothing styling it to be at the bottom of the page.

    This should, more or less, get you started. Please note the doctype (which is necessary in any HTML document), the use of CSS and also the Flash Satay method, seen here, that works much better than what you had originally:

    Code:
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en">
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" />
    <title>snl</title>
    <style type="text/css">
    body{
         background-color: #000;
    }
    object{
         position: absolute;
         bottom: 0;
    }
    </style>
    </head>
    <body>

    <object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="snl.swf" width="1015" height=150">
    <param name="movie" value="snl.swf" />
    </object>

    </body>
    </html>
