    Discriminating Scrollbar Supression

    There's a way to display a window without scrollbars with CSS. But I was wondering, is there a way to differentiate between a horizontal and vertical scrollbar? That is to say, could I open a new window with a vertical scrollbar and without a horizontal scrollbar, or a new window with a horizontal scrollbar and without a vertical scrollbar?

    Thanks.

    you can open a new window without scrollbars using JavaScript, but you can only program whether it will have scrollbars, not which scroll bars it will have.

    if you wanted just the vertical scrollbar, you could open the window with scrollbars, and use this chunk of CSS on the page you wanted to be in the popup window:

    <style>
    .body {
    y-overflow: hidden;
    }
    </style>

    but, if your pages content stretched beyond the width of your window, it would get cut off.

    hope that helps slightly...
