    Well, HTML documents are saved with either .html or .htm extension, both will work just fine, and if you want to format a CV like in Word, then you can style your HTML tags with CSS. If that't not what you meant, then please deepen your question.

    Try saving your word document as an .htm page. In Word, choose File > Save As... , and select Web Page in the drop down box. Works fine.

    Editing and saving HTML files in Word is a very bad idea. You will end up with thousands of lines of nonsense code, which is added to the document.

    I suggest the following

    Remove all MS Office applications from your system

    Download and install Open Office (you can still open your .doc files with this)

    Use the PDF button to convert your document to PDF.

    Let the whole world see.

    That is quite an exaggeration; I typed 3 sample lines of text in Word, saved it in .htm, and viewed the source code that was generated. I'm estimating it produced an extra 20 lines of comments that would not be generated by Dreamweaver, the rest was legitimate html. It's obvious you despise Microsoft, but I think you should be fair in your comments.

    I like the PDF conversion idea, but you don't need to abandon MS Office to do that. You can do it online here:

    I am and that is the truth. Program code will be added to an Office document, therefore code in a plain text editor.

    I typed this into Word and saved it as a web document:

    Code:
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN"
    "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd">
    <html>
    <head>
    <title>test</title>
    </head>
    <body>
    <p>test</p>
    </body>
    </html>
    Look what Word produced:

    What would you get if you produced the same thing in Dreamweaver? About 20 lines of required doctype, meta data, title, style, etc. Word is not ideal, but it gets the job done for this guy's immediate conversion needs.

    Woah, I didn't even know there was such a thing - I thought pdf files were Adobe's? I got, or to be more specific my parents bought, Adobe Acrobat Pro.

    @che_anj: Don't be afraid to use Word Documents or PDF's. Just remember their function. PDF's are for large documents and such, if you have a file like this: don't be afraid to use it. Just offer either a download link or a view online link.

    You have to be careful when sending word files because sometimes they can leak information about the machines they were edited on etc. look at this article
