Exclamation Does a style sheet need a DOCTYPE?

That is my query. Does a style sheet need a DOCTYPE?
I have never given it a thought before, but it has just popped into my head, and I have not found anything on the web.

No a stylesheet does not need a doctype. Its the (x)html document that the stylesheet is on that needs the doctype.
