    Exclamation NOW RESOLVED - How can I alter the caption font.

    The program below is adapted from a download site and I have also been using the knowledge of koyama from another post.
    I would like to alter the caption font but I can't see how.
    Any help gladly received.

    I don't know you tell us. Seriously you post your questions asking for help but yet you don't show that you've actually been trying anything yourself. Post what you've tried. Better yet go learn CSS so you can understand it better. www.htmldog.com is a good site to learn from. Many of your questions can be answered by doing simple CSS tutorials.

    I thought that was obvious that I had tried. After all, I have adapted the original program to suit my needs. I find it difficult to remember all the things that I had tried. I am 82 years old, and my short term memory is not all that efficient.
    I have had much useful and accurate assistance from the coders including yourself, but I get the impression that you think that I am a nuisance.
    You don't have to respond if you do not wish to. Leave it to others who do not seem to find me such a trial.

    No hard feelings.

    All I'm asking is post WHAT you have tried. We'll tell you why its not working. Posting and saying "What's the code for this?" tells me that you haven't seemed to find a solution because you have no code to show. So just show us what you've tried. I'll give you a hint, its in this part of the code
    Code:
    .thumbnail span{ /*CSS for enlarged image*/
    position: absolute;
    background-color: lightyellow;
    padding: 2px;

    border: 1px dashed gray;
    visibility: hidden;
    color: black;
    text-decoration: none;
    }
    As I said before if you learned more about CSS you would understand why its called cascading.

    Thank you, that is what I needed to know.

    I have several books on CSS.
    CSS The missing manual
    CSS mastery.
    CSS in 24 hours.
    Cascading Style Sheets for web design.
    Cascading Style Sheets
    (Separating Content from Presentation.

    But it is not possible for me to read them all, and they do not help on a look-up basis very much. Expert advice from yourself and fellow coders is a valuable resource indeed, and saves hours of reading for just a family website. Please do not under-rate the value of the Forum and its expert advice.

    Many thanks once again.

    I have never ever read a book about web design. Everything I know has come from doing tutorials on the internet and by helping others.

    You haven't missed much. There is so much padding in them that it is often difficult to see the wood for the trees. I'll investigate the site you give. It looks interesting.

    Happy coding.
