Question just the gap inbetween my flash and text left

    hey guys

is there any way of making fonts in javascript render more smoothly in ie and opera, because they render so smooth in firefox and netscape.

also another problem i just noticed with my site, when i test it in safari everything seems a bit blurry.

in opera there is a gap between my flash content and the text on white background.

fixed->in firefox and netscape my flash content doesn't display?<-fixed

fixed-> also is there any way of getting rid of the annoying dotted active x border around my flash content, without having to click it every time i open my site ?<-fixed

is there anyway of solving these issues ?

oh and any validation errors that are obvious?

My advice still stands from that original thread you started. I told you what to do about the flash.

The best method for inserting flash is to use a javascript library, such as SWFObject that will get rid of the annoying ActiveX Controls in IE. This also means that, for semantic purposes, you can add an HTML link or description of the video that will sit under the flash content so that if the flash player, or javascript is disabled on someones' browser they will see the information beneath the flash and can still use, or get an idea of what it is about. There is an object method that works cross browser and is based on the flash satay method... read about it here

Back to SWFObject, everything you need to install and use it is detailed on their site at SWFObject

Do NOT use embed, it is deprecated in HTML 4.01+ and I think only IE would recognise it now

That link you gave at the top redirects to sitesled.com, which has no doctype, 79 validation errors and some horrible code?

However, there is no noticeable gap in Opera on the flash content section and everything looks fine in Safari for mac. There is no way to change the fonts in IE and Opera as far as I know. That's just how the browser renders them?

the Grey gap between the bottom of the flash content and the top of the white text background ?

It did not take me to that page? I got a site called sitesled.com??

However, if I manually type in the URL it works? Weird!

    You could add:
    margin-top: -25px;

to #content div to get that text just under the flash content. It seems to look like that in all the browsers I tried it in?

Sorry, but I am very new to CSS myself. It would be a case of "The blind leading the blind"

    Try this URL.

    http://css.maxdesign.com.au/selectutorial/

    Very useful.

This may be a problem with you're flash file in itself. On the load of the flash file the background colour was grey. I'm guessing that your image is smaller than the designated space.
