    Background image not showing.

    Why isn't my background image showing. I've tried what I thought it was and just about everything that I found on the net.
    This is what I was thinking
    Code:
    body {

            background:#f9ae4b url(gradient.jpeg) repeat-y;
            font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
            margin: 0;
            font-size: 80%;
            font-weight: bold;
            }
    the color and the image didn't show up.

    Not enough info. You need to post a link.

    You aren't supposed to have HMTL tags in your style sheet:
    Code:
    < style type="text/css">
    <!--
    body {

            background:#f9ae4b url(http://www.awsomejoe23.com/tosell/gradient.jpeg) repeat-y;
            font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
            margin: 0;
            font-size: 80%;
            font-weight: bold;
            }
    Remove them and see if that solves the problem.
