    problems with right column dropping and displacing

    hello,
    I'm having some problems with keeping my right column in place in IE6 in a fixed width three column layout.

    I know that if the elements contained within the column or the wrapper encasing the 3columns are too wide this can cause a dropped column. However, I think that the images in my layout all add up to the correct total width of the wrapper.

    The site is working correctly in FF and IE7.
    Thank you for any assistance you can provide.

    Hello bz78,
    Without downloading your site and rebuilding it here locally I can't be sure if this is the problem but at some point in your editing you've lost your character encoding and the <html> start tag. Replace everything from #wrapper up with the following code:

    Code:
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">
    <html>
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8">
    <title>Zia's at Red Door | Restaurant, Wine Bar, Catering</title>
    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="3column.css" />
    </head>
    <--lose the depricated center tag-->
    <body>
    <div id="wrapper">

    thank you for checking it out. I made that change but it does not seem to have been the cause for the content dropping. Also, what is the better way to center the layout with css?

    Code:
    body {
    text-align: center;
    }
    #wrapper {
    margin: 0 auto;
    }
    That will center it for you.

    Sorry I'm no help with the real problem. I don't have a machine with IE6 up and running right now.
