    Internet Explorer div tags align side by side with percentage widths

    I have a problem when I align my div tags for columns( i.e side by side) and I use percentages to define the div widths. In Firefox it works fine but in IE when I resize the window the divs disappear. Can I get any help with it please, I have a client pressuring me for results!!!!!

    Hi stanley83,

    Without seeing your page my guess is that you have encountered the phenomenon of 'float dropping'. This problem is seen in IE6 which erroneously expands elements overriding any other size declaration there might be for the element.

    There is no 100% satisfactory fix for this problem. I cannot go into details with this since I don't have the live example, and I am not absolutely sure that this is the problem.

    If it is, try to identify which DIV is the one that stops shrinking as you downsize the window, and apply the following property to this div:
    div#theFaultyDiv {
    overflow: hidden;
    }
    There is an excellent description at http://www.positioniseverything.net/...ingboxbug.html
