menu bar vertical location varies from browser to browser

I've tried to insert a horizontal drop down CSS menu in my layout. However, the menu bar displays about 10 pixels lower in Firefox than it does in IE.

    Here is the link.
I checked the margins, padding but can not seem to find a way to get the menu to display at the same position in both browsers.

Any guidance is very appreciated. thanks.

It seems to be your h1#logo.

    Hello bz78,
_Aerospace_Eng_ is right, the h2 is causing that. h2 is not the way to present a .gif anyway, use something like this instead:
    Code:
    <img src="mediakit_files/HEADER-new.gif" alt="logo" width="735" height="120">

    Thank you all.
You were correct. It was the h2 element. Taking the margins off of it helped me correctly position the menubar in both browsers.

I was using the h2 tag to position html text (the company name in the same brown color as the header) so that the name would print. The gif is actually a background element of the header div.

It is now but when I looked at it the h2 tag was loading the image. The span tags were empty... looked like <span></span>

Could be the image was also loaded as a background but I didn't look that far.

It looks very nice though, and the pages I checked validate - you gotta like that. The only glaring problem I see is a submenu, "sports and recreation projects, under Markets is too long and breaking out.

Thanks Excavator. I will correct the "sports" issue.

I got the menu to display correctly above the main content, but now I'm trying to get it to sit in the main content (above the photo, adjacent to the yellow box). It does so in Firefox but IE still positions it above the photo.

I'm trying to use only the h2 element's height to determine where the menu sits, but I'm missing something...

I wound up compromising a bit and positioned the menu bar as 100% instead of trying to fit it to the left of the right column.

FF2 looks pretty good here... in IE7 the menu is cutting the girls head off right above her glasses.
