    Angry My pages do not print on IE5.5 and IE 6 :-(((

    Hi there

    This would be a milion dollar question if I had million dollars. But I don't :-( If I had them I wouldn't be killing myself with such problems...

    Anyway, if someone can take a few minutes and look what is wrong with this pages: http://www.kulinarika.net/portal.asp ? The ydo not print on IE and even worse, the kill the browser if print preview is made :-(

    Must be a bug in IE, but problem is my recipes are on same template and recipes do not print either :-(

    http://www.kulinarika.net/baze/recept.asp?ID=8378

    I am going bezerk with this :-( I made a containter in CSS width 920 pixels. Inside I put a left menu div (float left) and a main div (also float left). This main div contains a head div and a main body div...

    I can not understand why would it kill the browser :-(

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Yours

    Jernej

    Hmm add this in between your head tags to your template
    Code:
    <style type="text/css" media="print">
    body {
    background:none;
    }
    #left, form {
    display:none;
    }
    </style>
    See if that helps. What should happen is when the user goes to print only the content is printed. The left div, body background, and form are set to not display.

    Wow, neat trick, I'll try it right away...

    Am I stupid or are there a lot of problems with nice printouts from the CSS based sites? I tried many now and the IE doesn't block, but... the divs are one below the other most of the time... Opera makes the best layout from my experience, but it is not perfect.

    Old table based sites I made print perfectly.

    IT WORKS!!! It helps... You ommited the forms and left menu (it is a complicated menu I'd say)...

    The only "problem" now it the recipe prints on the page 2 and on page 1 there is out logo... I would like our logo to be on the same page as the recipe, I don't know why a 1 page gap :-( Does a clear:both do that?

    Anyway, before you say it, I know I can do a print layout. It is already there for the members. But I want non members to be able to print (not the nicest but anyway)...
