    So my images shift at random when you hover...

    http://matthiesen.zzl.org/nature.html

    The second row of images. Seriously, it's aggravating me. As far as I can tell, there is no reason this should be happening. Some rows don't do it, but the number/rows that DO shift end up changing every time I try to fix it.

    Each image looks like:
    Code:
    <a href="/photography/HD/nat1.jpg" id="thumb" rel="shadowbox[nature]" title="Place 1">
    <img src="photography/nature/nat1.png" /></a>
    All of the images are coded in the EXACT same way, except for filename, obviously. There is no difference between rows, I'm letting the div width automatically set rows so I haven't even used any "br" tags!

    The rel="shadowbox" part simply refers to a third-party javascript code I'm using to display the fullview pictures, I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with this because the links were displaying fine before...

    My css for #thumb, and everything image and link-related, looks like:
    Code:
    a:link{text-decoration:none;}
    img {border:0px;}

    #thumb{
    	border:0px;
    	opacity:0.5;
    	transition: opacity .5s ease-in-out;
    	-moz-transition: opacity .5s ease-in-out;
    	-webkit-transition: opacity .5s ease-in-out;
    	padding:0px;
    	margin:0px;}
    #thumb:hover {
    	border:0px;
    	opacity:1.0;
    	padding:0px;
    	margin:0px;}
    This is driving me mad. It's probably something awfully dumb.

    Tested in FF and Safari and I'm not seeing any issues. The Hover looks quite nice, and no shifting at all.

    No shifting in FF 19, Chrome 25, or IE 8.

    Which browser are you using in which the shifting occurs?

    Smile

    As far as I know, I'm using the latest version of Chrome, on Windows 7... How odd! I suppose the fact that it's not happening for other people is reassuring news. Now I just wonder what I'm doing differently.

    Thank you very much for your input!
