I've been looking and looking for a solution to this but I just can't seem to find one.
I have a picture of me and three friends. I set up an image map so that when you mouse over me, you get a popup with my name. The same thing happens with all of my friends.
However, what I'd like to do is make it so that you can also hear an audio file of us introducing ourselves. For example:
When you mouse over me, you see "Jack" in a popup and at the same time, you can hear me say, "I'm Jack". I want this to work the same way for each of my friends without having to click.
Is there an easy way to do this? I'm using DW and putting a link to an audio file from a section in an image map means you have to click on that section.
I did find a tutorial that uses HTML5 and will play a sound on mouseover for text, but I can't figure out how to do it for an area within an image map.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. Ideally, I'd like to be able to hear the sound just on a mouse over, but if that's not possible, is there a way of clicking on the person and hearing the sound without bringing up an external player? Every time I try to do this, I keep getting sent to a new page with nothing more than a QuickTime player. I changed the association to VLC, but I still get the player starting up. Isn't there a way to just click on the person and hear him say his name without having these constant interruptions?
