Cross browser colour issue - colour profile the problem ?

Hi there - many thanks for anyone that can help with the below.
I am making this site for a client:
    http://dev3.nd-marketing.com/

I had a designer make banners for the rotating area at the top of the homepage, and she made the background colour the same as the site background so that the banners blend nicely.

Except I have noticed that on other people's machines, I can see the border between the banner and the site background quite clearly... the colour is not matched correctly.

I did some research and I think this issue is to do with colour profiles of the banner images, but honestly i have no idea how I should approach fixing the problem so that the colours blend across browsers and platforms

    can anyone advise?

    many thanks for any help

You can't rely on colurs in an image matching colours set directly in the browser. The only way to ensure that there is never a colour change is to make the colour in the image transparent so that the directly set colour shows through.

I have solved this now. It was due to the fact that the blue site background was an image saved without any colour profile information, whereas my banners were saved with colour profile information. When I stripped this away from my banners - they blended nicely
