    Logo help

I don't really expect anyone to do this for me, but it can't hurt to ask...

I'm trying to create a clock logo with an arrow around it. I found one image I like and am trying to create my own version. Obviously there has to be some depth with the arrow, but I like the look of flatter colors.

I attached my attempt...thanks to anyone willing to try!

At first I’d say you need some kind of shadow behind the gray circle of the clock, to create a better illusion of the arrows going behind it. Also, a shadow of the arrow itself on the clock might add some depth. And then you won’t get around at least some gradients to create a lighting illusion, i. e. let the arrow get darker when it goes behind the clock. The gradient doesn’t have to be big but there has to be some.

    Thanks - that helped a lot! I made some improvements, but I don't feel like it's 100% there...just not sure what's missing.

    Any other thoughts?

well I guess you are trying to recreate the top image, right? well that clock has a gradient fill to the grey circle, darker on the edge, to provide the illusion of volume, then the arrow casts a shadow on the clock, and the clock's surface is glassy with green (more visible ) hands.

To complete the design you need to use illustrator properly. You can use shadow to make your design more beautiful. You can make your clock darker in the edge. So above all you need to implement your design skill properly to make a beautiful design.
