    Video Clip

I am posting this here because it is the closest forum to what I need. How does one get a few seconds of video from a longer clip? That is, if I see a clip on You Tube and I want a few seconds of it; how do I capture it? Is there a certain application that I need? Is there a free video clip capture program program I can use?

I don't want to do this often, in fact I just have one use. So I don't want to have to spend a butt load of money just getting a couple of clips.

If there's no copyright issues involved, download the flv file - and you can modify that with really any video editing tool.

Thank you for your response, Evo. But I am a complete rube at this. Where is the flv file located? For example, I want a piece of a transformers trailer. So I am looking at it on You Tube ( Transformers).

When you download the whole file (video) from youtube it will be in flv format. You need a flv-downloader or youtube downloader. Should be enough freeware out there.

Simply download internet download manager trial and install it. Now when you load any video in youtube, you will see ,just above the video, internet download manager asking to download the video. Just download it and browse the folder where you saved.

For converting that video, use allok video converter. It also has an option to edit the video.
