Question Image appears faded in IE but not in Mozilla or Chrome

I'm working on a website for an architecture firm and there logo is on the front page. For some reason it appears faded in IE but not in other programs. I've tried changing it from a jpg to a png but this didn't help. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

Can't help you if you don't post a link to your site, much less the actual image.

What version of IE does it appear faded in, and when you say "other programs" what programs would those be? I've checked the image in IE6, IE8, and Firefox 3.5.2 an they all look identical.

Looks good to me, and not to be naggy, buy you might want to consider some indication that the way to enter the site is to click on the image. Otherwise some people might get confused.

PHP Tip: If you want to use short tags (<? or <?=$var) then make sure short_open_tag is set to "1". It really helps.

I can't say for sure what other people are using that have seen the problem (although I'll look into it), but the computer here is XP with IE7. I thought that it was isolated to that program but I just checked on both Firefox and Safari and I can't see the image clearly on those either.

I guess the problem lies in a setting on the computer and not in the browser like I had thought. The resolution is native and set at 32bit color, so its not that. I'm really not sure what the issue is. I thought I was being smart when I thought to take a screenshot on that computer to show what it looks like, but it comes out looking like it does on every other computer. Hmm. . .

    Whizard,
The logo brings you to the portfolio page which there is also a link from on the top menu bar. I guess I put the link on the logo just in case people thought that was the way to enter, otherwise they just use the menu up top. Thanks for the input though.

You haven't given us more details. What browser were they using? What operating system? As we've said it appears fine to us.

    Exclamation Users

The computer here with the problem is running XP with IE7,
another user was running XP with IE6.

I know its not IE though because it does it in firefox and in safari on those computers as well.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Can you get screenshots from the pc with ie7 and a screenshot from the pc with ie6? Anything else you can tell us? Antivirus, firewalls? What type of internet connections?

    Question

    Aero,

I wrote earlier that when I took a screenshot, that the image appeared as it should, thus not replicating the issue. Does this mean that the problem is with the monitors and/or the video card or settings?

It could be an issue with the monitor and/or video card settings yes.
