    Embedding wmv file

    I have embedded a wmv video file into a webpage.
    Works fine on my PC and another I checked it on, however I have found out that it does not work on another two.

    Code I used to embed was

    Code:
    <object classid="CLSID:22D6f312-B0F6-11D0-94AB-0080C74C7E95" codebase="http://activex.microsoft.com/activex/controls/mplayer/en/nsmp2inf.cab#Version=6,4,7,1112" type="application/x-oleobject" width=320 height=286 align="middle" standby="Loading Windows Media Player components..." id="MediaPlayer">

    <param name="filename" value="http://www.mydomain.co.uk/tours/mydomain.wmv">
    <param name="Showcontrols" value="True">
    <param name="autoStart" value="True">

    <embed src="http://www.mydomain.co.uk/tours/mydomain.wmv" width=320 height=240 align="middle" type="application/x-mplayer2"></embed>
    </object>
    Is the likely problem out of date browsers?
    Or do I need to modify my code?

    Any guidance appreciated.

    The video clip starts off with about three stills, on the computers that wont play the video the first still comes up and stops there.

    is there any loss in quality converting to flv?

    well the flv plays ok on my pc and the ones that previously would not play the video. the downside seems to be the loss in quality when converting from wmv to flv.

    I think I have to find a way around the embedded wmv problem.
    Although I am reluctant to do so, I am considering upping it to youtube.

    I am having the same type of problem. Videos play fine on my computer when I view in a browser but don't play when the page is published. I have looked for several days in forums for an answer to this problem and have not had any luck. So I have come to ask for help...I hope it is not bad etiquette to piggy-back on another person's post. There are two pages currently that have my videos on them. One which was built with a table and one built with DIVs and CSS (preferred). Can someone please look at my two pages and tell me why I can't get the video to play. Currently only the Christmas and Valentines Day videos are uploaded to the website.
