    Best schools for web design

I'm looking for a good school to go to pursue my passion to become a skilled web designer. I want something that goes into detail about creating detailed graphics for sites and wondered if anyone here has went to a school and can recommend it thanks

Where are you located? The US? The UK? Elsewhere?

It sounds like you're more interested in front-end (read: client side) web design, as opposed to web development. I would look into a school that teaches graphic design, major in that, and supplement it with courses that teach (X)HTML, CSS and possibly JavaScript and Flash.

A lot of it depends what your natural talents and inclinations are. If you feel you're already pretty good at illustration, typography and graphic design, take courses that teach you the technical side of web design. If coding comes more naturally, look into courses on graphic design. Sign up for the classes in the "hard stuff," you can teach yourself the rest.
