    Impressions about PowerPoint

    Hi,

Do you believe that PP get the audience interested in the talk or not?

    Thanks for all.

If it is done right, sure it can. However it can also be a distraction if it contains basically everything you say.

Educated questions often get educated answers, and simple questions often get simple answers.

If you just had paragraphs of text, then no.

If you had questions on the PP, then answered them in you're talk, that's the king of thing that would work.

yes i agree with the above posters. i've attended a lot of seminars in school, and most of the speakers were just projecting exactly what they were saying. as a result, most of us didn't listen to them anymore since it would be faster to read on the pp presentation.

but i've also attended seminars where the pp complements the talk of the speaker in that it served his "secretary" so to speak in presenting his topics. it worked out for him also because it had pictures and short clips.

Whatever is in the powerpoint should be complimentary to what you're talking about, not just your speech verbatim. Think graphics, charts, lists, movies, exciting things.
