    asf vs. wmv

    Hello Everyone:

I have jumped into the video arena and am a little confused after reading many opinions on the streaming video subject. My question is this...

Which form is better to use when placing streaming video on a website?

    .asf and .asx or
    .wmv and .wvx

Is one smaller size than other? What would those in this forum suggest as you guys usually have the experience to make great suggestions/responses.

    Thanks so much in advance.

I wouldn't suggest any of those. Support for Windows video is limited. I would convert your videos to .flv format and use a .flv player. There are many free ones out there.

And yes this does involve flash but you won't need Flash Professional to do it.

Search for JW_FLV_Media_Player in google to find a player that should work for you.

You can also try the OGG format and embed a Java applet. Here's an example: Simplified OGG Player.
