    hidden videos are being viewed

    Hey now -
I've a video site where it displays a video of the month that I've uploaded. A new link is displayed monthly which enables the viewer to d/l the month's video. I've just uploaded a few new ones and have noticed they're being viewed before the monthly link has even been displayed. I've the indexes turned off so how are they able to view and d/l my hidden videos?

    Thx

Have you checked your google index. Are you logging who are viewing the videos?

    nope
    it's no biggie
just curious how they're viewing unlinked videos
appears some are just d/l'ing the whole folder for offline viewing later
    thx

Its possible that they have figured out your file naming convention and then they just access your video directly and download/view it this way.

    the file names are unique
however, another forum has informed me there are site copiers that spider the site and allow the user to choose what folders to download

Perhaps you have directory listing enabled? If you go to the directory of your videos. http://www.yoursite.com/videos/ do you see the list of videos?
