Smile help creating a banner for my website

I am looking for a *hint* of guidance on how to use Adobe Photoshop CS2 to create a nice looking banner for my website.

What I am looking for is something similar to:

My website is also based on Minis and would like something that looks quite good, but nothing too much is needed. I have taken some images of my car at to create the banner with. But what I have tried so far just hasn't looked ample.

    Dank U!

Here is a link to a tutorial on Deviant Art, which does a lot with lighting. Really you should just look at different tutorials on the web and see if any fit the style you like or want, because you can do anything to an image if you have enough desire to learn photoshop.

I have searched google and looked at so many tutorials on how to create a basic web banner. Just can't seem to find anything that details out the steps enough for me to be able to do it (using PS CS2).

I'm not looking for anything too complicated - i might upgrade to something else at a later stage.

Does anyone have a URL that would have a good tutorial on how to do this?

If you already have something started, then hopefully you are familiar with the basics of photoshop. What steps are you familiar with and where do you find yourself needing help? I found dozens of basic web banner tutorials on google, so I don't know what to post to help here.

what one specifically did you find mate? i found a few, but alot of the times the tutorial wasn't basic enough :-) sorry i am such a PS newbie! I'm not a designer as you can tell, ha ha, i've been a developer for the past three years and have never really got into design much.

but i am trying to sort of break into it here, just to make a basic banner.

Ok here are a couple things.

http://graphicssoft.about.com/od/pho.../bllps5out.htm - This gives a lot of small tutorials on the actual usage of Photoshop and what different tools can do.

http://www.pegaweb.com/tutorials/beg...obe-photoshop/ - A different tutorial that says it starts at the beginning of time.

If you want to make something for the web, you will make it in photoshop at full quality, and then export it to a web format. There should be some information about that in these tutorials.

I hope these two give you a good place to start, and if you are willing to spend some time learning those basics then you can look at some of the other tutorials which assume you know the basic functions of photoshop.
