    Varying GIF Framerate Between Browsers

Hi guys, long time no post.

I've recently noticed that different browsers often display animated GIF images at different speeds. I have searched around the web, and found a few discussions about the issue, but no solution or even an explanation.

I was wondering if anyone knew how to resolve this problem, or at least could explain why it happens. I imagine it'd be a pretty big issue. I mean animated GIFs are quite common, and really ought to be consistent.

For example, this image (just an avatar from a member on another forum), displays turbo-speed when viewed in FF. In IE it is playing at the desired speed according to the member. Additionally, it appears random, as sometimes it does play at the normal speed in FF, but usually is sped up.

I'm not the only one seeing this, as there is a thread about it on the other forum, but no one has an answer, so I came here.

Any help will be much appreciated.

I can't help other than to say you are right. Have you searched the FF documentation or anything from them?
