    Help modifying this graphic

Love when clients want something in a hurry then change their minds midstream. I have to include the letters "DJ" in between exclusive and pool. Any tips? I think I'm just going to go with some type of decorative font in a different color and just lose the reflection I am using on the text. I'm not trying to do too much work on this b/c the client refuses to pay for logo design. Therefore its this simple text "logo" with a gradient. I'd use Illy (and more creativity) if it were an actual logo.

Just my opinion of course, but if the client isn't willing to pay for something - they don't get it.

In my experience, clients are far more likely to change their minds mind-stream when they aren't paying for it.

    I completely agree!

I simply added DJ using the same font without a stroke or gradient using white as my base color. I would just type out the name in one color but I'm too partial to my designs. I really need to start doing that tho.

Well the first one is certainly nicer, but the second is more than I'd expect for free.

Well I did keep the reflection on the text and still have the blurred oval around it...I just had the layers turned off while in photoshop when exported that image. I am being paid for the actual site but I'm not getting paid for a logo design. I think its best to keep the two (web design and logo design) separate. But I definitely need to not be so generous in the design arena.

Well looks kind of good , but I don't understand why did you leave
    "DJ" white ? It's like 3 - 4 minutes of work.

    Otherwise you did good.

Do you mean why did I leave "DJ" white opposed to giving it the gradient? Simple, since the name contains three separate words I did not want them to all have the same look. By making DJ white, you can simply glance and tell there are three separate words. This might be my opinion but I think its essential to provide those types of visual separations for logos. Also, the white ".com" kind of gives it that alternating feel between gradient then white then gradient and white again. Although,it appears that I have to go back and give ".com" the same drop shadow as "DJ". I only have until next week to make a membership based e commerce site. Plus I have some flash animation and a custom mp3 player to do for this project so time is short all around.

Here is how it would've looked with th gradient:

If you have any suggestions or additional comments...thats what the thread is for...I'm all ears.

I think "DJ" in white looks better.

What you have here is a conflict of spatial relationships. Looking at your reflections you have two objects sitting at different locations on a plane. The word "exclusive" would have to be sitting behind the word "Pool" to make your graphics make sense.

But the fonts are the same size and therefore your title here looks like it's stacked- especially when you but the word "DJ" in the headline. If this were the case the reflection below the word exclusive would be below the word "pool" and actually not visible- follow me?

To make your design make more sense you ought to overlap the word "DJ Pool" over "exclusive" and consider having the font size for "exclusive" smaller to give the effect of perspective. The overlap can be slight but it will help quite a bit.

These are things that other people might not notice but it makes a huge difference when art directors looking at your designs (who know all about these little nuances) are considering hiring you for a job.

    BRILLIANT feedback.

I understood most of that and will tweak the graphics as soon as I get a chance. The one thing I needed clarification on was the reflection. The font is italicized. Of course to create the font I simply copied and vertically flipped the text. So should I not italicize the reflection so that reflects straight downward? I do believe that is what you're suggesting, I just wanted to make sense? You're not at AIT by chance are you?

How about trying the DJ in the white and placing it centered behind the P with the P and o being somewhat opaque to see the DJ (no reflection on the DJ)? I am thinking that would have a nice 3D appearance. I am confused about the reflection suggestion though, if an object is angled would it not reflect at that exact angle as well, how would it straighten itself? Of course it would depend on the focus of light at well but if your looking headon, that would keep it angled, wouldn't it? Although, I am on expert in artwork, just going off of IIRC.

What is AIT? Lol, obviously since I don't know what you are talking about I don't have anything to do with it.

If you want to know, I am out west at college right now. But Atl is my home. I'm not actually there right now so if you are referring to a company, no, I don't know what you are referring to.

Well I've been analyzing your reflection, if it is slanted like that it will reflect like that. I double checked just now in a mirror to be sure. Sometimes that's the best thing to do if you aren't sure.

I like what you have by the way, and I never answered your question- I think it is legible.

    Thanks for the thank.
