    hello,
am finding really hard in selecting colors for images, links for my website.. I havnt found any nice color software..

Not sure what you are asking. Are you asking how to find the color of an image that is displayed in your browser or are you asking how to find the color of anything that is displayed on your screen?

I am looking for some free softwares which allows user to drag the cursor and drop it on your fav. color ... that will generate hex values ... I came across with Color Schemer Studio but its not free and comes with 15 days trial. I want software which generates rgb, cymk and html color codes.

    thanks,

    Saeed.

Is this for your own personal use or were you wanting like a color picker for your users on your website?

If its for your own personal use look into http://www.nattyware.com/pixie.html
Its simple but should give you what you need. Its also free.

Just compare it to the list of web safe colors here http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_colors.asp

Though TBH not using web safe colors really isn't an issue any more as most modern browsers can view almost any color just fine.

And although probably not as professional as a desktop software there is a color scheme generator at http://wellstyled.com/tools/colorscheme2/index-en.html. And also there is a site called colourlovers.com where people submit and review color palettes. It could help choosing website colors.

    I find these useful: http://www.nikhef.nl/pub/computing/WebColors.php and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_colors

This program is quite useful, saves you the hassle of having to look in the stylesheet if there's a colour you like: http://instant-eyedropper.com/

i personally use http://www.colorschemer.com/online.html which is great if you have a single colour in mind and just want variations of it, or want lighter / darker versions.
