    What looks best??

    Hi guys!

I really have a problem! I can't decide which one of the following bannersizes that looks best!

NOTE: ONLY look for the banner stretching or what to call it. Don't look at the content. And the stretched banner will btw have lost its good look, but don't worry - It'll get fixed!

Nbr 1 (Banner stretched over the WHOLE site:

    http://www.guild-metus.com/xflightx/test.html

or nbr 2 (Banner stretched over only the MAIN content):

    http://www.guild-metus.com/xflightx/Untitled-4.php

What looks best? Thanks for your time!

I like the one covering the whole page. It also makes design sense if the left and right columns contain content for your site, as the banner covers everything.

However, if your left and right columns are going to be advertising or other non-site content, use the banner that only goes over the middle column. Otherwise, it'll look like everything is yours. Does that make sense?

Hehe thanks for the reply! And yes, it makes sense The right/left side columns will also be carrying content for my site, so I guess that the "all over" banner might be the solution.

I opted for the same idea on my site. http://www.prdesignz.com
The banner stretches. It doesn't matter if it gets distorted either because it was meant to look that way to begin with.

Aero, I don't think CaptainB means 'stretched' as on your site, rather should the banner sit astride all three columns, or just the centre column.

Personally I think it should definately be astride all three columns, it looks more together that way.

However, if we are talking fluid/elastic/expanding layouts: a really good example of this, without distorting graphics can be found here http://www.visitthames.co.uk/

    Simple but effective

    Graft-Creative, exactly - that's what I mean

Thanks for your input, I have now decided to stretch it over all 3 columns -
