    play avi externally

    I want to have a link that will play an avi file in windows media player. It needs to be able to work in IE and Firefox. In IE it tires to download and in FF it tries to play with the quicktime plugin.

    -Thanks

    Nothing you can really do other than make the avi file try to download by passing a php header content-disposition.

    alright got some code now

    is there a way to use the fullscreen paramater i might have made up?
    Code:
    <object id="MediaPlayer1" CLASSID="CLSID:22d6f312-b0f6-11d0-94ab-0080c74c7e95" codebase="http://activex.microsoft.com/activex/controls/mplayer/en/nsm p2inf.cab#Version=5,1,52,701" standby="Loading Microsoft Windows® Media Player components..." type="application/x-oleobject">
    <param name="fileName" value="<?=$movie;?>">
    <param name="animationatStart" value="true">
    <param name="transparentatStart" value="true">
    <param name="autoStart" value="true">
    <param name="showControls" value="true">
    <param name="fullscreen" value="true">       <<<<<<<<-------------<<<<<<<<
    <embed type="application/x-mplayer2" pluginspage="http://www.microsoft.com/Windows/MediaPlayer/" src="<?=$movie;?>" name="MediaPlayer1" autostart=1 showcontrols=1>

    </object>
    That does everything I want except for you have to right click to get to full screen. can it be automatic?

    No it can't be automatic. The best you can do is make it 100% width and 100% height of the browser.
