    Object is the preferred method of putting multimedia on a webpage. The params are what goes in between the object tag telling the browser and the multimedia to follow certain things. Embed is the old non standards way of putting multimedia on a page. Avoid it if possible.

    The type in the object tag is what tells the browser how to try and play the media. For example flash is
    Code:
    <object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="flash.swf" width="#" height="#">
    <param name="movie" value="flash.swf">
    </object>

    Suppose I wish to put an mp3 file into a webpage, through the use of an object tag. I have tried putting 'type="audio/mpeg"' as an attribute of the tag. When I display the page, the audio merely plays, with no GUI for controlling playback. How do I get that GUI (say, of Quicktime or of WMP) to appear?
