Would like suggestions for my website

I'm taking a website-building class at school, and I have to build a personal website as a term project. I've got a basic site online now (follow the link below, and choose HTML site), which I hand-coded in HTML. Now, I have to create a Dreamweaver version of the site, to run alongside the plain HTML site (you can choose to view one or the other). I have a link off the page listed below to the Dreamweaver version, but it contains only the main page, with a minor change from the HTML version.

Basically, I'm supposed to use Dreamweaver to create a fancied-up copy of the original HTML site, with extra features. If you look at my Dreamweaver page, you'll notice I've added CSS buttons in place of regular links. That's one change I thought of. My problem is that I have no idea what else I could do for my enhanced site. Please take a look at my HTML site, and give your recommendations for additions or changes.

It's the school server, it might have been down for maintenance or something. I just checked the site, and it was OK.

    Some CSS dressing-up?

    Grant,

maybe you could use CSS to dress up the pages, like setting the font so the standard browser font won't show up, creating fancy headings (colored background, inverted text color, or something boxy), placing the copyright notice in a page footer, and heving it stand out against the main content...
    Regards,
    Ronald.

    Re: Some CSS dressing-up?

    Thanks.
    1. I already have CSS on the pages, for the background color, text color, links, etc.
    2. I've been thinking of either creating graphics or DHTML for those headings.
    3. What do you mean by a page footer?

Put your footer at the very bottom of your page, not at the center of where you will have your text.

Also, change the color of the buttons, - I personally hate the color black, it sucks the life out of the page. (no offense to the cf header ).

That's probably because I had just made changes to my site. Whenever I make changes, the access settign are reset to none- like I said, this is on my school server. I have to go into the file's properties and change the permissions to allow the page to be viewed over the internet. It's driving me crazy! Ii should work now, though. I sometimes forget to fix the permissions right away...

How do I do that? I mean, it won't move down unless I insert more content above it...

    As for the buttons, I haven't perfected them...yet. Soon...soon.

Have another look, ionsurge. I tweaked it a little. Do you like the look better now?

Might want to reset the permissions again. I am getting not found again. Or maybe I wasn't meant to look at it.

    aaaww poor Spookster lol

you should prolly only use 1 stylesheet instead of 2, i see that for your dreamweaver page, you added an extra css for buttons, that can just be placed inside the other orignal sheet, you dont have to call the buttons if you dont want to

i like the "welcome" header <hr> tags, i never thought of something like that

No, that was me. I was moving pages around and renaming them. A few links escaped my notice. Try it now- it should work.
