    <img> "align" attribute deprecated

    I'm trying so very hard to keep all of this xhtml and css stuff straight and I happened to notice that when I validated this page it said that the "align" attribute is no good

    Is there a new way or better way to display this image and have it align to the left? The site needs to display the USBC logo in some form and since this is a redesign I wanted to place it right there on the home page and then later it will be moved to the right column.

    And here's another crazy question...

    Believe it or not there are actually blind people that bowl (it's an absolutely fantastic display of overcoming an obstacle!) and one of my css books cites several different accessibility validation sites and that's ok, but just as previously I've asked for a Mac review, I would like to know if there's anyone who can actually give an accessibility review?

    This particular site has not yet taken accessibility into account - the association is pleased with the general layout so now I get to spend my weekend working on the accessibility aspect.

    Thanks for your time!

    Well default alignment for text is left so no need to use align="left" in something that already is aligned left. To get content to wrap around the image you can do something like
    Code:
    <img src="images/usbcLogo.gif" alt="USBC Logo" width="139" height="80" style="float:left;" class="pageimages" />
    or
    Code:
    <img src="images/usbcLogo.gif" alt="USBC Logo" width="139" height="80" style="float:right;" class="pageimages" />
    the image would need to come before the text in order to work.
    This line
    Code:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="iso-8859-1"?>
    is throwing IE into quirks mode. Get rid of it. Don't worry your page will still be able to validate.

    Accessibility

    You ought to find a lot of useful information about accessibility on Accessify; furthermore, Joe Clark is considered one of the leading men in the field, and his book is sort of the standard work on web site accessibility.
