    Pointy corners be gone!

Hi all, this is my first post here, probably not my last by any means.

I've done a search on this topic, found something that i didn't exactly understand, and now i turn to you experts.

I have just made a website for my boss www.territoryfm.com (currently diverts to ginetti.com.au for now)

I have a table system, with 3 collums set up, the middle collum for the main content, the left and right for the bars and menu items.

How do i make it so that the outer edge of collums 1 and 3 have smooth curves, and not pointy corners like they currently do.

    Thanks in advance,

    Gino.

    Rounded corners

At present, you'll have to resort to using images to create a rounded corner effect; if you Google for "rounded corners" you'll find a plethora of publications on the subject, but to save you from searching, here's one from the authoritative A List Apart: Creating Custom Corners & Borders.

By the way: in windows smaller then 1024x768 maximised your layout jumps all over the place when hovering over the dropdown menu items; you might want to look into that, because it's rather annoying.

ok i'll check it out, thank you so much.
i tried making rounded gif corners, but i could still see a very thin white line on the angle of my dark rounded gif.

    Wish me luck

    Thin line

The trick with gifs and transparency is to create the image against a background which matches the target background as close as possible.

While you're creating the image that is to become the corner gif, the graphics editor of your choice probably applies some form of anti-aliasing, which ends up in the final gif as a number of pixels with colors in between the foreground and background color; if for instance you select a -standard- white background, these in-between-colors will fade to white, leaving a whiteish fringe in the gif.
    Regards,
    Ronald.

ronaldb66, yes i notice my menu jumps on anything less than that size screen you mentioned (i tried viewing it on 800 x 600).
why does the menu jump like this and how is it fixable.

i imagine this would be very annoying to anyone visiting with that resolution which causes the menu to jump

    thanks for the help.
