The counter is not in there anymore. I've uploaded a whole new footer file since then.

    Slow, slower, tables

Anyway: I've checked a couple of random pages, and they all seem pretty slow to me; might have something to do with the endless hordes of layout tables. Your markup could do with some hours on a CSS stairmaster; I'd also advice to place all scripts in external files and link to them, especially the ones that appear on every page. That way, at least you can benefit from the scripts being cached.

    Cut, paste, link

Javascript functions can be accumulated in a sort of function library by placing the code in a separate text file and removing them out of the page source.
You can refer to this text file with the following in the head of your page:
    Code:
    <script type="text/javascript" src="whereever/your/file/is/script.js"></script>
You can name the file anything you like, but the extension .js is sort of popular and does indicate that it's a javascript file.
    Regards,
    Ronald.
