    Your coding is a bit of a mess, so you'd be best to work on that really - your using deprecated html tags as well as css.

    Take out the 'background' attribute in the body tag :

    <body leftmargin=0 topmargin=0 background="http://nrc.250free.com/rfimg/flower_bg.gif">

    And change :

    body {font-family:"Verdana";font-size:12px;background:url('http://nrc.250free.com/rfimg/flower_bg .gif');

    To :

    body {
    font-family: Verdana;
    font-size: 12px;
    background: url(http://nrc.250free.com/rfimg/flower_bg.gif);

    Should work then.

    Theres nothing intrinsically wrong with having all your styles on 1 line, the ; is the separator not the new line character, with a large number of styles not in an external stylesheet it is often preferable to display them like that because they take up less space
    The issue is not that they're are all in a line, the problem with the css background is you've a space between the filename and the extension and you have quotes around the url, which arent needed
    eg.
    background:url('http://nrc.250free.com/rfimg/flower_bg .gif');
    instead of
    background:url(http://nrc.250free.com/rfimg/flower_bg.gif);

    your implication was that it didnt work cos the code was messy I was just explaining the real problem.

    If you're going to make comments like that its a good idea to explain the changes that you made especially when they are so small like spaces and single quotes. The more obvious changes (the change in format) combined with your comments make it appear if that was the change you made.
