    Domain problems... possibly illegal ones

    Hello!

I have two questions here. #1 is that I am trying to own a lot of different domains with my musician name in them. Right now I own .org and .us .
Well I went to try and get .com but the domain has been taken. I did a WHOIS search to find out who took it, it shows up nothing. and I dont mean nothing as in its a private listing I mean nothing as in NOBODY OWNS IT!
Go ahead and try it out for yourself:
go to any hosting site and try to get www.shadowbunny.com
It says it is not available.
Now go to www.whois.net or any other domain lookup database and type it in the query. NOTHING.
    What the heck?
    and.. my 2nd question:
My musician name is trademarked. Since shadowbunny.com just shows up a blank page, there really is not anything I can do, however I think a company called go-daddy has taken shadowbunny.net . I was reading through trademark laws and supposedly another company can not use a registered trademark within any part of where they are giving services, so doesn't this mean go-daddy should not have my trademarked name in their URL?

Any advice would be helpful.. I'm reading up on it all right now but maybe someone here who knows all this stuff already maybe can tell me something so I can stop melting my eyeballs out staring through all these government website pages lol.
    Thanks!

Well, assuming it is the same company we are talking about here, GoDaddy is a domain registration company. http://www.godaddy.com

The domain is in redemptionperiod status:
    WHOIS Search Results for: SHADOWBUNNY.COM

No match for "SHADOWBUNNY.com" in the registrar database.

    Registry Status: REDEMPTIONPERIOD
A domain name is placed in REDEMPTIONPERIOD status when a registrar requests the deletion of a name that is not within the Add Grace Period. A name that is in REDEMPTIONPERIOD status will not be included in the zone file. A registrar can not modify or purge a name in REDEMPTIONPERIOD status. The only action a registrar can take on a name in REDEMPTIONPERIOD is to request that it be restored. Any other registrar requests to modify or otherwise update the domain will be rejected. Unless restored, the domain will be held in REDEMPTIONPERIOD status for a specified number of calendar days. The current length of this Redemption Period is thirty calendar days.

Alrighty. I have found out things I have the right to do (and to NOT do). Thank you for the "Redemption period" info (it doesn't help my past situation but I at least now know something I didn't before.)
P.S. NightFire, get your site up, LED and neon gear is fun!
