    Shut down site

    Hey I need to shut down my whole sete save 2 directories(/css/, /images/) Is there a way to do this? What I want is all files except image files and flash files to be blocked and if you try to go to one it sends you here: http://adamsworld.name/closed.html
    now if it were easier it could go in the css or images folder so it would not be blocked. I have control over the .htaccess file and most others along with an extensove control pannel(cpanelX pro).
    Why not thank me?

    Well, deleting all those files from the server and setting closed.html as your 404 error page is the obvious (and very easy to implement) solution...

    Well, if possible you could just CHMOD all your files to something like 700 and then make an .htaccess files with this line: ErrorDocument 403 closed.html

    That'll work. =)

    Well I have alot of files and it would take me about as long to do that as fix everything like im about to do.
    I was hoping for a .htaccess way to do it. I know I could block all IP's but then I couldnt see my progress on fixing them...

    EDIT: Oh yeah... I am restructureing the pages and links so I do not want to delete them.

    You could actually keep your site open to only you. If you are on dialup then this probably isn't going to work as expected but if you are on broadband then your ip will probably never change

    .htaccess
    Code:
    <Files .htaccess>
    order allow,deny
    deny from all
    allow from 127.0.0.1
    ErrorDocument 403 http://www.yoursite.com/closed.html
    </Files>
    Where 127.0.0.1 is your ip address. To find this out you can go to http://www.whatismyip.com or use the command prompt on Win XP, Start>Run>type cmd>press enter>type ipconfig /all>press enter
    For additional blocking settings go here.
