Flash php guestbook need help quick!

ok so im making like I said a flash php guestbook. Anyways i'm new at this and im doing a tutorial from http://www.flash-db.com/GuestBookTut...Doc.php?page=6 and it says

step 3) Change the permissions of the 'GuestBook.txt' file to 777. You can do this by using Telnet or your FTP program. With WS_ftp you can right click on the file once uploaded and select 'chmod' - Just check all the boxes off.

But i have no idea how to change guestbook.txt which i have to 777. I'm pretty sure i didn't explain to well but thanks for helping anyways.

By the way i can't upload guestbook.txt to the tripod file manager

Hmm you need to make the text file writeable by the user which is why it needs to be 777. Maybe your host can do this I don't know. If you can't get your file chmodded to 777 then you might be out of luck. See if there are options in your upload manager to change file permissions or something.

Could be a stupid question, but are you sure the host supports php, because many free hosts don't?

Have a look through the help files/documentation to see if they allow FTP access.
