    Question Help with Basic Coding

    Hello, I'm quite new to the world of coding and need a little help with a project my friend asked me to help him with.

    He has asked me if I can create a website page for him. I can handle the basic HTML and CSS coding for the appearance and layout however I'm struggling with how to code other features of it.

    He wants there to be an input box within the website where someone can enter their email address, and below that a box with the word 'Send' or something like that which the user would click on. Then, an email would be sent to their address.

    However, the Send button needs to be linked to one of those Google Code Documents (I'm not familiar with them at all) of which my friend will fill out the coding for the email.

    If anyone could provide with any assistance on how to do the above, I would greatly appreciate it.

    And I understand if I sound like a complete noob being unable to do this... but as I said, I'm new :P
    Thanks

    When the user enters their email and clicks "send", what is sent? Do they get the document that your friend created in Google Docs?

    Is there a reason he uses Google Docs for that content? Maybe there is a better way to do the content for whatever is getting sent?

    Also, who is the webhost that hosts the site, and also provide a link to the site so we can see how your HTML form will fit into the page.

    I guess more information is needed for us to answer your question precisely.

    The use of the website is simply for a school project so we're not using a proper website in the sense that it has a domain or is accessible from the web. Basically, the website is a code document simply displayed in an Internet Explorer browser - the project would only be viewed on one computer.

    I think he wants to use Google Docs because he is most comfortable with using it. Unlike you, neither of us are expert coders :P

    So, realising that I don't have a sufficient amount of information, I think I should just rephrase my question

    How do I code for a box in which someone can write their email address?

    If this question is also unanswerable, then I'll have to make my friend give me more details... and hope you'll forgive my lack of knowledge :P

    oh, I get it now ... you want a simple form ...

    Paste this into your HTML ...
    Code:
    <form action="#" method="post">
    Enter your email address to subscribe to our newsletter<br />
    EMAIL: <input type="text" name="email"> &nbsp; <input type="submit" name="submit" value="Subscribe">
    </form>
