I'm wondering if you mean "text editors" that a programmer uses to write code, or do you really mean, "text editors" as in a CMS (like WordPress) eg. TinyMCE?

    1. For how long have you worked as a programmer?
    15 years

    2. Any particular programming languages you mostly use?
C++, PHP, Perl (programming and/or scripting, which is not really programming)

    3. For what purposes?
    Website/internet applications.

    4. Which text editors do you use?
    Notepad++
    http://notepad-plus-plus.org/

    5. What defined your choice?
Line numbering, color highlighting, highlighting of tags and operations (opening and closing), ease of find/replace and so many other options.

    6. Which text editors you might have been using before?
    MS Notepad

..... like I mentioned before, I think you mean CMS editors like TinyMCE.
But your original post is not definitive. So the last questions don't really apply to me.

    7. Do you follow the other text editors updates?

    8. Which text editors you DID NOT like? Why?

    9. What functions might some text editors be missing in your opinion?

    1. For how long have you worked as a programmer?
    2 years.

    2. Any particular programming languages you mostly use?
    XNA, and the CSS/HTML/JavaScript Trifecta.

    3. For what purposes?
XNA for game design, the Trifecta for Web Design.

    4. Which text editors do you use?
For XNA, Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Express. For the Tri, I use Notepad++.

    5. What defined your choice?
Ease of access and usefulness of the functions they provide.

    6. Which text editors you might have been using before?
The original Notepad when I was a...noob.

    7. Do you follow the other text editors updates?
Not really, no, I just watch for new full editions.

    8. Which text editors you DID NOT like? Why?
Visual Studio 2013 Ultimate. Far too much stuff that I would never use.

    9. What functions might some text editors be missing in your opinion?
I haven't really missed anything, as this is how I learned it.
