Do you have your website on a shared webhost, or your own server?

If it's a shared webhost account, you can have PHP save the form as a comma delimited file (CSV) and then import it to excel by hand. PHP can't save files on your PC, PHP is server-side, so it saves files where your website is.

If you have your own server, you can install PHP Excel libraries.

Probably the simplest is to write a download.php, so that when the user submits the form the download link appears. You could even have more than one download link and the file can be saved in more than one format. You can have the submitted data processed to a file in the download.php.

Is there a reason it has to be Excel, or can the form data be saved in a database on your website? That way, you can view the data from anywhere in the world ... not just the PC that has your Excel files on it.
