    create page on default level

    Hello,

I am trying to create a (sub)page on my website at the level of the default folder (website.com/pageiwanttomake.html). The only other page currently in this folder is index.html. I can make pages work in every other folder (e.g. General - website/com/general/pageicanmake.html), however when adding a page to the Default folder it just doesn't work.

Do I forget something or does a page in the default folder require additional links?

    Many thanks,
    Cstatus

If you put an HTML file called “pageyoumade.html” into your root directory you should be able to access it at http://example.com/pageyoumade.html What exactly is the problem? Are you tring to link to that page from the index page? Can you provide a link?

Exactly what I though. The link is www.contractstatus.nl and the page i'm trying to create is /iframehelper.html

It's stored in the Default folder - same as where the homepage is at (index.html)

Unfortunately when trying to get to /iframehelper.html it redirects me to the homepage..

The directory / is the root of the server, public_html if it's Apache, the directory ./ is whatever directory you happen to be in, the cwd, the directory ../ is one directory up from the one you're in. To go two directories up use ../../ .

So you need . /iframehelper.html to access it from the main index.

No, that looks like there is a redirect set up. Check for an .htaccess file and post the content. Or check your control panel if there is some redirection set up.

You're talking about server side shorthand DrDOS, he is not.

I agree with VIPStephan, it seems like a server configuration issue. I noticed you capitalized "Default" when talking about your public level folder, is it possible your folder is actually called that? What is your hosting situation?

You can input whatever you want after the domain, it always redirects 404 statuses to the home page. So, definitely a wrong server configuration.
