    It depends on what the website is being used for and what the content is.

    Some businesses only use a single web page just to show address, phone, email.

    Give us more information on what your website will be used for.

    If you just want a good website: HTML + CSS.

    If you're going to have ALLOT of content and expect tons of visitors, go with either WordPress or some sort of Wiki.

    go for wordpress, you can start using this either you want a simple website with contact form etc., also lots of plugins!

    If you are a beganer the I'll suggest you to choose wordpress for your first website.

    I think WordPress and Joomla can meet your expectations. Very simple to manage and set up a page.

    I will suggest you go for wordpress , it is SEO friendly and good for easy ranking

    Wordpress is definately a good starting point, which means that you will have to develop on a Linux platform (Linux uses PHP) - this is often cheaper for hosting as well.

    I'm sure you could setup Wordpress on Windows (IIS) but it would no doubt be more awkward to setup.

    Do you have hosting or are you looking to get some once you decide on the platform?
