50 similar domains - forward them all to main or clone 50 websites for better ranking

So I have 50 some odd domains all associated with one concept.

Right now I have all 50 domains just forwarded to the main domain I have for this project.

But I've been thinking of taking the entire public_html folder for the main domain, cloning it & installing it on all 50 domains & letting each domain be their own name & ranking with google, ever website would essentially be a clone of the main website but with substantial content to help with ranking, but any where you click it brings you to the main domain's website.

I figured this could eat up a few pages worth of google putting this new project on every page for every link.

    Thoughts?

As long as the content on each one is unique it might help. It will not make any difference if the content just duplicates (or nearly duplicates) the main site though.

Yes just duplicates was my intention. Wouldn't every website at least show up as link one after another though if the content was the same?

Sounds like a scheme for an 'internet marketing' rip off.

Not at all actually. I'm just trying to grab as much traffic as possible with as many google links that I can.

I legitimate product & service will be offered, so not sure how you think it's an "internet marketing ripoff"?

Be careful, the latest google algorithm has been targetting this sort of thing. Even if you did somehow manage to get away with it there would always be the risk of a competitior reporting it, if they discovered all the domains / sites were related to one source.

But how can I get in "trouble" for anything if I own all of the websites & content? What am I doing "wrong"? I should be able to do whatever I want & market/advertise them how I please. It would be a very legitimate main website.

I'm not familiar with panda or penguin & honestly never read the guidelines of search engines, usually just agree to them in order to use it.

Any idea what part to read exactly?

    Thanks.

For example these parts on duplicate content and affiliate sites for Google, which is part of the Webmaster Guidelines. Similar rules apply to other major search engines.
