I need a good text editor

Does anyone have any suggestions for a good text editor that will handle image uploads as well as YouTube embeds?

I've been using CKEditor and CKFinder and I've almost got it working good but I can't fix one particular error and the forum provides no help at all. After reading of all the issues people have with it, I've come to the conclusion that it's just got a lot of bugs in it and you have to live with it.

I agree with you that they all sort of suck in some way. TinyMCE, CKEditor, and most others are so huge and bloated, it takes a ton of time just to upload their files to the website, let alone configure and make them work.

Describe how much text (or data) you are talking about, and how many of the gazillion features do you need? Perhaps you just want the users to edit text ... just text and not fonts, colors, sizes, paragraphs, layout, etc.?

And describe the technical abilities of the users. Do they know how to upload images and then insert them into the content? Things about image sizes, placement, what do to if the image needs to be changed, etc?

I agree. It took me a while to configure the toolbar and get CKEditor to work with url rewriting, of which I can't find any documentation of and I'm sure my latest issue is tied to it but I gave up after a couple hours of fiddling around.

Anyway, I just need the user to be able to upload images, embed YouTube, and then for the toolbar: bold, underline, italics, alignment, paragraph, h1, h2, font color, font size, anchor links

    That's really about it.

Is it a single person, or a couple of people the update content on a simple website? Or is this a huge thing where you will have many people using the editor with multiple log-ins?

Will there be hundred or thousands of entries? Or just a few pages?

Would this be something more WordPress oriented?
