Need help on choosing a CMS (details inside)

I'm looking to to make a football (soccer for you Americans lol) site that's main draw will be it's articles and forums. I'd also like it to have a video section and be able to easily add certain features (basic ones like adding a detail in a users profile of their favourite team or something). I used Drupal in the past but getting things to work seemed very tedious. I used and enjoyed Joomla in the past but i keep hearing bad things about it.

Since i last used a CMS, WordPress seems to gained a reputation of not being a blogging system but a fully blown CMS. Is it any good and does it allow much in terms of potential growth within a site or is it still very limited?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Wordpress is still a blogging CMS, but yes has grown into being fully customizable. It would work well for your current needs and allow you to grow your site into more than a blog should the need arise.

I think Wordpress would do well for this. For the forums I would use another software though. I don't really like the wordpress forum software.
