    Javascript Gallery - Help please

    Hello,

I am new to JS so please go easy on me. I am trying to implement a similar gallery system to this one (http://www.timsimmons.co.uk/snowbank.php) into a website I am designing for a friend who is about to graduate in her fine art degree. This website is actually a friends dad's, which he got made for him, and is therefore unfortunately unable to give me any tips. I have managed to implement the actual image browsing element into the page, the problem i am having is linking a caption to an image. Is it possibly something to do with the CSS and anchoring text to an image? I would like to pursue this method particularly as I like the minimal aesthetics, I'm not a fan of scripts such as light box etc which create a separate viewing window or take you away from the page. Its also been annoying me for a couple of days now and i'd like to crack it! Any tips please!

The best advice I can give you is post your question in the Javascript and provide a link to your website or provide the code you are using.

Actually I take that back, the BEST advice I can give is to browse through the numerous jQuery gallery/slideshow plugins and find one that suits you. I spent 5 minutes looking and found an inline lightbox alternative:

I've not used that plugin so I'm not recommending it, but it looks promising.

Have a look at the Galleriffic Jquery plugin:
    Galleriffic

I used this recently - the layout can be easily modified to suit what you want it to do...very quick to get going as well.
